Music to Praise

Music should be used to praise our Father.
Some of the music in churches today meet this generation's wants instead of bringing glory to the one true God.

Psalm 100:1-5 says,

1Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Meaning: This verse doesn't say "Make a satisfying sound unto the people". It says that we should make a joyful noise unto God, not the people. Even if we don't have amazing voices, we still need to praise God!

2Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Meaning: As we serve the Lord everyday, we need to have the right and glad attitude.

3Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Meaning: God made us and as His people we need to honor and glorify Him.

4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Meaning: We should be thankful for everything He has done, not in our lives only but in others'. When we go to church, we should clear our hearts and minds from any distractions and meditate on His Word and bring praise to Him.

5For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. Meaning: The Lord is truly good, merciful, and truthful. To acknowledge all these things we must praise and thank Him. When we sing a solo beautifully or play an instrumental offertory at church and people compliment us, we need to say that it is God who gave us that talent and that He should be the One to be praised.

The music we listen to affects our attitude and how we praise the Lord.
We don't want to be listening to rock music and feel rebellious when we worship God.

So, is the music you're listening to and singing glorifying to God?
