Monthly Verse

The Joy of the Lord is Our Strength
Isaiah 26:4

Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
Meaning:  The Lord is someone we can trust. He gives us strength and care everyday.
A lot of our Monthly Verses are talking about how God is our refuge and strength.  We need to keep that in our hearts and minds as we go through our daily activities, whether they are difficult or simple.

February 2012
Deuteronomy 6:5
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Meaning:  Anyone can clearly understand this command; we should love the Lord with our whole heart, soul, and might!  The Lord should be our first love because He first loved us (I John 4:19).

January 2012
Jeremiah 6:16
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
Meaning: Even though the Bible was written though the inspiration of God a long time ago, its messages are still good as new.  It is the good way that will lead us away from destruction.

December 2011
John 1:11, 12
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Meaning:  When Christ became a man to suffer on the cross for us, many people disliked Him.  But those who received Him as their personal Savior became part of God's family.  Have you received him?

Colossians 3:15-16
15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Meaning:  Let God's peace and word rule in our hearts.  We should all praise the Lord with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs as believers.

October 2011
Psalm 34:3-4
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears
Meaning:  We should exalt and glorify God's name together as believers.  When we acknowledge God, at our time of need, He will return our acknowledgement and help us escape our fears.

Isaiah 12:2-3

2Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
3Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
Meaning:  God is the only one who can save us.  We can trust him and not be in doubt and fear.  We can have joy through Him for He is our song and strength.

August 2011
Psalm 55:22
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Meaning:  When we cast our burdens and worries to the Lord, He will uplift us and help us stand back up.

July 2011
Psalm 27:14
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Meaning: God is always there to strengthen us, but He wants us to be patient in the time of need to test our faith in Him.

II Corinthians 1:3,4
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
Meaning: "The verse does not say God sends trouble into our lives so that we can learn to comfort others.  It says that God comforts us in our troubles so that we can comfort others.  The verse includes two beautiful names for God- 'the Father of compassion' and 'the God of all comfort.'  How reassuring!  The verse does not urge us to pony up comfort for others from inside ourselves.  Instead, it points us to the compassionate Christ as the source of the comfort that will bless others who suffer."

Colossians 4:5,6
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Meaning: We need to walk in wisdom and share the Word of God with others.  Our speech should be like salt to prevent corruption in lives.
